Kenneth A. Ulrich, CFP®, is a Founder and Partner of BearingStone Wealth. He is a Certified Financial Planner who advises clients on their overall financial planning needs. Ken’s clients come from all walks of life - successful professionals, business owners, executives, retirees and other high net worth investors.  

Ken worked in Real Estate prior to his entry into the Financial Planning Field in 1981. Through the years, he has maintained his licensing as a Real Estate Broker and that expertise helps him to assist his clients in executing real estate strategies for their investment portfolios. He earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) professional designation from the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado in 1987.  In addition, Ken holds FINRA Series #’s 6, 7, 22, and 24 Licenses, is a Licensed Life and Health Insurance Agent in several states and has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with a concentration of study in Accounting from S.U.N.Y @ Fredonia.

Ken has become particularly well known throughout the financial services industry for his knowledge and understanding of financial planning as well as the determinants of financial success. He has frequently served as an instructor providing continuing professional education for Attorneys, Accountants and Real Estate professionals. He also has regularly served on various advisory boards with every firm he has been affiliated with throughout his career. Having successfully developed and managed multiple businesses during his lifetime, Ken has developed the knowledge and experience to meaningfully assist clients with their business planning needs.

While Ken focuses on retirement planning, he also provides several specialized services such as business exit strategies, tax reduction strategies, qualified retirement plan consulting as well as estate and eldercare planning.  Ken’s vast experience spans over more than four decades during which he has experienced several market and business cycles.  This experience enables him to coordinate both wisdom and maturity into a sensible, intelligent approach in planning for his clients.

Ken enjoys spending time with his family which includes his wife Krista and their four adult children. His personal interests also include many outside activities including biking, boating, snow skiing, fishing, hunting and motorcycling (Harleys only). His charitable activities have included service on several boards and committees, and most recently has involved a focus on community-based efforts to reduce substance abuse among teens, local food pantries, as well as support for several other local charities.
